While this book is not very old, the original case was made too small for the text block causing it to split at the joints prematurely.
The client asked that the new cover be closely matched with the original but in green rather than red cloth. After having a die made to match the cover design, I foil-stamped both the spine and cover of the new case.
The original ribbons were sewn onto new headbands and the text block with a new spine lining and hollow was cased in, resulting in a better-fitting, better-functioning book.
